Actually I think I found the file in question.
/etc/appamor.d/usr.bin.evince.
I changed the line as in #2, but the problem still remains for me.

This is the same problem I'm having in Xubuntu 16.04.
@Alex D. I cannot find the file you mention anywhere, to edit it.
Could you give me a heads up as to where to look.
