I downloaded the updated file-roller package and installed it manually.
The error message did not pop up when I extracted the same file. I've
tried a couple of other zip files and there's been no error so far.

The archive can only be extracted by double-clicking on it and manually
extracting the file(s).
Even after a successful extraction, the error message window still pops

The problem is reproducible in my case, in the following way:
1. Download the truecrypt-6.3a-ubuntu-x64.tar.gz from
http://www.truecrypt.org/downloads
2. Extract the file using file-roller (right-click and choose extract, or
simply drag and drop onto any writeable directory).

case, gnome-panel is likely
I did a backtrace but it hung as soon as I used nautilus to browse my
home directory. This is all that I've got in the backtrace log.
