It kinda did not bother me before, since I used Firefox, which had its
own config. Since I swatched to Chrome, I really want this problem to be
fixed.

x505-Q830. NVIDIA X Server Settings can switch between configurations
just fine. It reports NVIDIA driver version as: 195.36.15 and GPU as GTS
250M.
