In Ubuntu 12.04 totem 3.0.1 in the 3D Unity interface, even when
clicking on the playlist files in the right pane, if you have a list so
big that they go off the bottom of the pane so that you need to scroll
up and down, scrolling makes the movie or song track forwards and

Agreed, resizing is basically required to use this program so either the
initial window needs to be created larger or automatic resizing needs to
be re-enabled.

I believe I have greatly narrowed down the problem...
Upon switching from my Saitek Eclipse II keyboard to another one, the
issue has gone away. That apparently means that this has to be either a
driver problem then, or a Xorg (perhaps Xinput?) problem, or all of the
above? No clue yet.

I've managed to reproduce a way to temporarily get out of the problem:
Right-click inside the window which has mouse focus, so that the right-
click menu appears.
You can then click on other windows for a while.
After clicking again in the window which had focus though, your focus is
once again

It seems it's a problem with window focus. If the gnome panel has
focus, you can click and manipulate things in the panel, but not
anywhere else. If Firefox has focus, you can click and do stuff there,
including moving the window, but you can't click on or manipulate or
This is also happening in Linux Mint 11, since it's based on Ubuntu
11.04. Some notes:
Seems to only happen after the power saver is engaged (screensaver was

I just had this happen again. The only similarity may be having
Thunderbird open, not sure if I have had it open during each of these
occurrences. Perhaps the new email notification window in Thunderbird
messed up the window focus.

I thought you just had to change the type of X window that gets created
for Gnome menus from one which steals focus to one which doesn't
basically? "Menus" (simply a different kind of X window) clearly have a
different kind of focus setting than most normal windows do, like
Nautilus windows.

I just tested this inside VirtualBox with the daily build 2010-04-13 and
upon trying to access a network share, after putting in the credentials
for it and selecting remember until I logout, I was presented the the
errors once again.

And what's your justification for it being of low importance? How can
you determine that when this isn't even confirmed yet? Or are you just
trying to be a jerk because I said I thought it was of high importance?

I tried logging out and back in, and could then remount the same share.
In the case mentioned above where I tried rebooting on a computer and
that did not help, I had told it to save the password indefinitely.
This means that this issue is somehow related to whether or not the
password for a shar
If it helps any, it did create the array, but crashed right after doing
so. I also had this happen with another action, where it appears the
action completed before it crashed.

This crashed after I installed the required mdadm and attempted to
create a raid 1 array. FYI, mdadm still tries to install postfix for
some reason, and it might be nice to install mdadm by default or signal
for its installation automatically.

Digital surround output is also missing for me on a Realtek ALC889A
chipset. I only have "Digital Stereo Duplex (IEC958)" and various
combinations of both output and input, while the analogue options
include 4, 4.1, 5, and 5.1 surround. So, I guess it's not be detected
correctly, or something? :P

In Jaunty currently the volume control goes all over the place easily if
you move the mouse much when trying to adjust it. For instance, moving
it up a little makes the volume go down a bit and if you keep moving up
it jumps to zero, and in general

I'm assuming binfmt-misc is standard and is in Ubuntu by default and is
the way the kernel executes files. If so, I also am experiencing this,
and I would guess that the easiest solution for a quick fix would be to
have "Run" be a special option that's always available for executable
