That seems to be a gdmsetup crasher. What does happen when you run
"sudo
gdmsetup" from a command line?

I've Ubuntu 5.10 upgraded to Dapper on line (because I cannot install
Flight 3 or 4 directly). Before, there wasn't this bug. For me appeared
only within the last updates.
