Copying to USB external drive is very slow and in most cases stops copying. It 
would seem this is so for large files. 
I have had problems with files over 200MB.  Small files copy without a problem. 
Copying large files 1G or more fails or slows to taking hours to complete a 
copy. As the copy process goes beyond 200Mbyes the process slows down to almost 
stoping.  I cannot copy a whole directory. I cannot copy any files of more than 
200mb without problems.
Clean boot with out running othe programs does not help. I have check drive 
permissions , but this does not explain why large files fail too.
Test system 
D510M0 Intel mother board with 2G ram. Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS with all up dates. 
Samsung 320G external drive format 32.

Bottom line copying large files to USB drive does not work.
