Unlocking
Note : this behaviour usually starts to occur after a couple of days
uptime (this is on a Dell XPS7390 2-in-1 with unrecognized fingerprint
reader), for every action which requires authentication (su, sudo, virt-
manager, screensaver unlocking).
journalctl error message (for the "su" example from
# strace -o /tmp/strace_fprintd-list.out -tt -f fprintd-list $USER
list_devices failed: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the
remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy
blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was
broke
