this is just going in circles. i don't understand the details but it seems that:
* it's quite ok to have a monospace filter built into the gnome-terminal font
selector
* this job is really delegated to the pango lib, which uses the first fc result
to determine the spacing for the *whole* family
*
upstream has closed the issue on gnome-terminal, saying
"gnome-terminal only shows fonts that are monospace, as reported by pango. So
if this font doesn't show up correctly, it's a problem in the font (or pango),
not gnome-terminal."
i've poked the https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/pango/-/issues/48

No problem, that is why I asked. I don't want to create multiple reports
for the same stuff. :)
Thanks. Cheers.

I resolved my problem with the rebooting.
@Aaron, I also have HD3200. If you still have the problem with Karmic
see my post in this bug report (not to write everything here again).
That resolved my problem. My post is towards the end, one of the latest
ones.

I forgot how I've changed default editor but I believe you have to
change line in "~/.local/share/applications/defaults.list" to
"text/plain=geany-usercustom.desktop". I'm sure you'll find solution on
the internet if that is not enough.

I have the major problem with this bug too. It is very disturbing since
