Public bug reported: On Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 after every reboot my Keyboard Layout is back to US again. Under "Region & Language" --> Input sources the list only shows German. No US whatsoever. A workaround is to add any other Keyboard Layout and then remove it right away. Then the German Layout
