When creating an audio disc copy (probably apply to any disks though) braserro
uses cdrdao with the --read-raw
parameter. As stated in the manual, --read-raw reads data and P-W subchann
Please try playing the files in comment #1 with any application based on
gstreamer (ex: totem-gstreamer)
I get a segfault in libglib called from libgstreamer (didn't send the bt
since there's no debugging symbols anyway).
That's on 8.04 x86-64 because I haven't had time to upgrade yet - isn't
it
If you don't need any 3D features you can also disable the nvidia
accelerated driver. It will use the open-source driver instead which
doesn't suffer from this problem.

I'm experiencing this bug as well, although it doesn't happen very
often. Sometimes when switching desktop X crash. It also happen when
using "chvt" from the shell (i.e. when I want to use vnc trough ssh and
need to switch user first).

Same problem with Movie-player (Gstreamer) and Armarok, although I don't
remember if I ever tried playing my shm files on 7.10
