I am running 9.10 with lastest updates. When I installed the movie
player plugins from software center, movie player would open then close.
I removed the plugins and when I try to run a movie (2012), I get the
same message that it is missing a

i have no sound with ubuntu for any program. i'm a new user and was
hoping to find a stable substitute for windows. of course it's easy for
a system to be stable if it doesn't support any necessary hardware.
