I can confirm that if you specify explicitly A3 it prints correctly. But is this the way it should be? If i print to Lenny cups queue or Sarge, i don't have to specify anything and i have mixed format PDFs in a directory and just do a lpr -P xerox1 *.pdf and each document is printed correctly,
