the system completely freezes so i have to use the power button. but after the
movie player hangs it takes about 7-10sec before the system freezes.

Binary package hint: totem
When i play movies or music the player freeze, and if i try to restart the
player the entire system freeze.
I have try totem, vlc, kmovie, kaffeine and more. I have a laptop hp 6735s.
I do not have this problem on my desktop komputer.
