I'm on Fedora now, but with EOG 2.30.1, there are still black boxes. I
think there are still some unanswered questions here. Has the bug been
filed upstream? Also, Erik's questions are unanswered: who should we
complain to? will this be fixed automatically when the SVG specification
comes out?

Binary package hint: eog
I have a large SVG file that EOG cannot display.
EOG complains with this unhelpful message:
"Could not load image 'test-tree.svg'. Error displaying image"
This SVG file works properly in Inkscape or Epiphany.
System:
ubuntu 9.04
eog 2.26.1-0ubun

I have this problem with SVGs produced by Inkscape. But really it's Inkscape's
"fault", not EOG's. See this:
http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ#What_about_flowed_text.3F
Still it would be nice if EOG would support it...

I'm affected by this bug! It seems to me that the power management
preferences should have an additional option that detects if an external
screen is connected. This option would turn off the laptop screen when
the laptop lid is closed, making the desktop go from an a dual-screen

I also confirm this bug on Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10, Evince 2.24.1.
I set the default printer using the Ubuntu menu System > Preferences > Default
Printer. Then Evince uses the system default, not the default that I have set
up. Other applications like Firefox or OpenOffice respect the user's defaut
