Kristofer, I'm currently running Ubuntu 12.10. It seems that the bug has
only been fixed for that version. But I can't tell you for sure, I'm not
a developper.

filesystem if hfsplus is installed. Rhythmbox doesn't warn you at all if
you try to write on your iPod without hfsplus installed.
