Could this line be added to the file by default in the package? I have
the option to log in automatically set in KDM and I tried to log in to
Unity just to find that I couldn't get the unity interface at all. I
couldn't even log out and the only possibility was to kill kdm and start
again but as
I also have this issue on a Hardy updated to 2008/04/09

Iv'e checked with the preview again enabled again and now it doesn't
appear in a separate window, but in the preview panel. The last time I
enabled the preview panel once the files were added to the project,
while this time I had the preview panel enabled from the beggining.

Yes. If I enable it the result is the same.
I've observed that when I add a video file, I can rename it clicking on the
name and the preview doesn't show on the first time. But once it has been
edited, further tries to edit the name show this behavior.

I confirm this using an up to date Feisty installation (installed from scratch
using Herd5).
I liked the old behaviour. I have two hard drives with some partitions each of
them and I liked to have them in nautilus' sidebar automatically.
