I am using unity, but the dialog I get is not the (rather small) one used by
gksudo. That one gets the focus as it should. Here I see a dialog that seems
unique to gnome-control-center (why doesn't it use the gksudo mechanism anyway?)

settings/network/network proxy | apply system wide, the same dialog with
(maybe) some text changed is displayed over and over (up to 6 times) until it

I just tested it in maverick, with Disk Utility 2.30.1.
The really crazy options are gone, although the idea of formatting a CD seems
strange :-)
