The same problem occurs in Vuze as well. As far as I know, both Eclipse
and Vuze use SWT GTK. The workaround of setting the GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS

More convinced it is a gtk 2.18 issue. I ran SVN of gnome-mplayer on my
gtk 2.14 machine and did not have the gray blocks when I resized the
window using either x11 or gl output over ssh -X.

I just upgraded 8.10 0> 9.04, and I was going to start customizing, but
the very first thing failed.
"System -> Admin -> Login Window" Local pane shows a choice called
"Human Circle of Friends" that does not work. I can select it
("Selected Only"),
I'm downloading a CD image in Jaunty and out of interest checked System
Monitor > Network History and it shows double the bandwidth that wget
shows.
My connection is limited to 16kB and most of the time wget (also apt) shows
14.9 k to 15.8 k.
System monitor shows between 28 k to 32 k, exactly twi

A further thought ... if normally only make the basename were initially
visible, but on some sort of interaction (mouseover? button?) display
the complete path name, I'd say that could be helpful as well. I
*usually* don't need the complete path name, but it would have been
useful a couple of time

Sebastien, After manually starting gdm using 'sudo gdm' I get the same
issue. Gdm starts, i see the new gdm login theme load up with the box
asking for my username, the username box then quickly disappears and I
get the message "Authentication Failed". After that no keyboard or mouse

Thanks for your quick reply. Ctrl-alt-fn has no effect. Also for
clarification: the mouse does move and the ok button does react to it by
turning the orange colour when clicked but it has no other effect.

At the Gdm login I am given no opportunity to enter my username and

double clicking on the drive icon in "Computer - File Browser" main
window. If I double click the drive icon in the "Paces" side bar of the

Hi all. I have been using Ubuntu 8.10 for some time now and did not
notice this bug initially using Ubuntu. I noticed it when using Linux
Mint 6, based on U8.10, as it was fairly obvious and annoying as the
distribution is otherwise excellent. Recently though it has been

The tmpfs requires a size (e.g. 4M) and therefore lets the VFS check
this. It's still a bug that it couldn't deal well with ramfs , but it's
