When plugged, audio doesn't sound out and mic doesn't capture in until I go to

- Install sysfsutils. (with synaptic or on terminal)
- edit this file with sudo - sudo nano /etc/sysfs.conf

The applet indicator that shows information about user statu, the button with
close session, restart system, shutdown system, the button with give access to
gwibber, empathy, evolution and all other icons in right side of Gnome's top
bar, shows strange after gnome start. In
Worked for me, too. I'm using the first 16 characters and, finally, I
could connect using empathy.

Yes, I'm sure my login fails. You're probably seeing another login
(@hotmail) I used in order to demonstrate that my connection and
configuration is ok.

I've done a new test: Tryed to connect using my login f...@superig.com.br
- didn't work. Then I tryed using another's person login
alaninhavi...@hotmail.com and worked fine!!! The same happened to
emesene. The log generated in the debug menu dialog is right above
("log in the empathy debug dialog

Empath
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: empathy
Empathy and Emesene can't connect to MSN messenger protocol. Tried to
retype login and password many times. Always returns "Authentication
Failure" message.
But aMsn, another messenger available at synaptic, works fine. It
connects withou trouble
Within one of the very first updates of my system, after reporting the
bug, this problem was solved and did not appear any more.
So I did not spend more time with this subject, sorry.

I suppose the menu entries are also visible in Gnome main menu? This is
then a gnome-main-menu issue and not alacarte. Anyone can confirm if
this happens in jaunty?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. I can confirm this bug in Ubuntu 8.10. Gthumb is
translated to Portuguese in my system so it's not a language pack bug.
