On further examination, it appears that this suspend/resume problem is not in the hibernate layer, but probably in the gnome power management layer on top of that. If I open a root shell in X windows and execute /etc/apci/hibernate.sh directly, everything works fine. X Windows comes back fully

Attached are the requested output/files. I did 3 hibernate/resume cycles. The first, I did by running hibernate.sh directly as root. It succeeded. The second I did by pressing the power button which the gnome power manager intercepts and handles. Strangely, this one succeeded as well in that
