Confirm this as described by swork.
However it also fills the /media directory with directories like:
/media/Mat's iPod
/media/Mat's iPod_
/media/Mat's iPod__
/media/Mat's iPod___
Obviously there is an error with the encoding in .hal-mtab.
Changing my iPod to MatPod cured the problem.#
