Partially solved adding "acpi_backlight=vendor" to /etc/default/grub:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_backlight=vendor"

Pressing Brighness buttons on my Lenovo E530 doesn't adjust the monitor
brightness, it remains at the lowest value. The notification appears and
remain at the lowest level. Adjusting it from the settings - brighness
works. Before the update to raring, buttons work fine in 12.1

You can disable the feature by disabling the automatic contacts plugin
in the plugins list (Edit->Plugins). The real problem is that the
checkbox in preferences is ignored.
