Removing compiz does not solve this problem for me. But in fact, the bug

I have the same issue. Evolution crashes also when I try to access
"Notes" and "Tasks" in left pane. Also selecting "Settings" (or
Ctrl+Shift+S) from "Edit" menu crashes Evolution.
