I've been able to transfer files to my network drive through cifs.
sudo mount -t cifs -o username=guest,guest,vers=1.0 //1.10.2.1/folder
/home/user/mnt

I have a similar issue but some slight differences. For example:
gio copy file.log smb://1.10.2.1/folder/
gio: file:///home/user/file.log: Network dropped connection on reset
When I copy, I get this error. On an old Linux Mint, I had the same
issue and rolling samba back to 4.3.9 fixed it.

100% and stops on fixating. Checking the processes, I see that Brasero
is running and these...
Growisofs is running with these parameters.
If I kill growisofs, Brasero reports that the burn succeeded, but my
disc is unreadable.

I tried 3 DVDs now called coasters. 1 of them stopped with an
input/output error which was caused by DVD speeds higher than 2x. Two
of them were coasters due to the fixating problem.
My drive is a writer included in my laptop, Acer Aspire 5920g. I'm not
sure of the exact make on this. I
