The version of GParted that was in the Edgy beta I tried would not alow
me to change drives.
At the top right it showed that /dev/hda was selected with arrows to
choose other drives. Clicking on the arrows made them disappear and you
were stuck with the same drive.
What shou
One thing I hadn't considered is whether the windowing system might make
a difference. the GParted livecd uses gtkmm and Fluxbox. Don't know if
this would make a difference. Let me know if this might make a
difference and what you might want tested, if anything.

Perhaps it isn't so easy to just upgrade GParted to the new 0.3.1
version. I was going to try to run it under Edgy instead of from the
GParted livecd to see if it was still fixed even with Edgy's different
windowing system.
Unfortunately the only dependency is libgtkmm which the Edgy beta has,
