When i copy files over the wlan to my cellphone (android running a ftp server)
the file-transfer stalls at 99%.
The file does arrive completely on the phone but the file-transfer dialog
remains forever.
When i close it, nautilus will continue

The brightness-regulation itself works, but the controls of the applet are
broken.
When i click on the sun (is it a white sun?) the slider appears, but clicking
anywhere on the slider makes it immediately disappear.

I am currently using gnome-power-manager-2.28.1 (Ubuntu Karmic) and dpms
works almost completely fine, except that i cant get any display-timeout
above 10 minutes.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

with a ugly and buggy wireframe mode when you move windows. Buggy
because sometimes the wireframe does not completely disappear after you
moved the window.

animation is responsible for minimize working and state changes being
emphasized.
That is not a technical reason.
Compiz works fine without animations, you just don't want us to disable it
anymore because

I can't even disable anything. For example i uncheck animations, move
the cursor around a little, and animations is checked again by itself.

It is gnome and gnome power manager to blame, everything works fine in xfce
with xfce power manager.
The screen tries do dimm down and right before its black it goes back to full
brightness.
Im really tired of this bug, since YEARS Gnome is not able to reliably dimm my
Meanwhile im running 2 X60Ts (coreduo, intel gpu) with Hardy and the T42
(centrino, radeon gpu) with Intrepid.
DPMS works reliably on all off them now, even after Suspend.
This Bug is resolved for me.

Im not talking about turning the card on or off but about the
powersaving modes the wlan-drivers offer.
Ubuntu offers no control over this other than entering a cryptic command
on the console that is not even documented anywhere.
The iwl3945 driver for example can be set to 7 different modes
Why is it not a gpm bug?
There is no other gui (for gnome) to access power-management related
functions other than gpm, it should be implemented there.

Im running Ubuntu Hardy on 2 Laptops.
A Thinkpad X60T with a Intel GMA945 GPU and a Thinkpad T42 with a radeon
mobility GPU.
On the X60T dpms used to work but not anymore.
On the T42 it never worked.
The screens never turn off, regardless of what i set the times to in
hal-find-by-capability --capability battery | xargs -n 1 hal-device
battery.log
At that moment acpi reports 1:46 and gpm reports 1:00.

Do the cycles need to be uninterrupted by recharges and is GPM able to differ
between multiple batteries with different capacities?
Im currently using the large battery and gpm reports 1:40 instead of 2:60 which
is the correct time shown by acpi.

the Moment it was plugged in.
Unplugging the AC-Connection is not registered anymore.
This worked fine in 7.10

Since switching to Hardy the reported battery-life is wrong.
acpi still reports it correctly, gpm does not anymore.
The reported life from gpm is about 20m short to the real value.
The Laptop im using is a Thinkpad X60T (Intel CPU/Board/GPU)
