Bug #257349 was fixed with Ubuntu 9.04 and gstreamer0.10-plugins-base
version 0.10.22-3, I have the same Ubuntu and have an even newer version
of the plugin: gstreamer0.10-plugins-base version 0.10.22-5.

Videocard - default built into Dell Dimension L1000R (machine RAM is
256MB). I don't know how to determine what video driver is in use.
I get the issue on any DVD. It plays some youtube videos correctly, but
has color problems on some others and can't keep full
Correction - it is my internet movie playing that has color and
framerate problems. Accessing youtube through totem seems fine. It
plays audio CDs fine as well as youtube videos.
