I would like to help confirming this. The hidden files are not counted.
Step to reproduce:
1. Create empty folder
2. Create hidden subfolder. Put some files into it.
3. Check the property page of folder created in step 1.

No such problem on my machine. Ubuntu 7.04 with Arial 8 with 96dpi font.
Unfortunately, I cannot capture screenshot because it will exit the renaming
mode before capturing, which I'll file it as a bug. :)
