Right, I would have to check on that, but I am afraid it is still an
issue. I don't know exactly because if I remember right, what I ended up
doing was to create a new user and log in as this one from then on.

I don't know if gamin is the source of this problem but I suspect it, because
as far as I know it should be the entity reporting changes to files and dirs,
right?
Please have a look at bug #97439 which I filed and is related to this.
How can I monitor
the dir is on a LVM volume:
/dev/mapper/belly-bigfish on /home type ext3 (rw,noatime,acl,user_xattr)
