argumentation, in all fairness if there is an issue it's probably an
upstream GNOME one in any case rather than a MInt or Ubuntu one so it
might be better to directly report it to GNOME

Seriously. Are you folks really that bitter about this Mint thing? I
know you know that Mint is nothing more than Ubuntu Linux with usable
desktops (i.e. Cinnamon and MATE), for those people that find your
tablet-izing Unity desktop simply unusable.
