Can still reproduce this bug with an up-to-date dapper, removing fonts
from fonts: via drag-and-drop doesn't work either.

The file fonts:/// doesn't exist in Hardy, latest updated beta version.
Fonts folder doesn't show in the fonts menu of
System/Preferences/Appearance. Files dragged into .fonts file shows in
all applications.
