I also don't like that the version number is part of the graphic and not
automatically pulled from /etc/os-release. I opened a related GNOME bug.
They don't seem to want to include the distributor logo but if we need
it we could try arguing for its inclusion.

Thanks Jeremy, I doubt GNOME will we wanting to make the branding
optional, it would be nice to generate the text under the logo from the
etc file indeed, it would avoid having to update the logo image
