I agree that this lack of "white area" in the list view is annoying. If there are enough files to fill the window, it it not possible to get the usual folder context menu. Of course, all its items (like Paste, Create folder, Properties (of the _folder_), Open in Terminal) can be found somewhere els

So you can paste the file using CTRL+V ? If you change how the files are shown you'll be able to right click and paste the file. Take a look at my attachment and try and change to that view instead, and you'll see (even though I'm showing you that view with konqueror, it works with nautilus too).

Hi there! Just to be 100% on this, are you certain that writing rights in that folder? if you have that, then it would be great if you could give me the following info: What version of Ubuntu are you running? (6.06 Dapper, 6.10 Edgy...) What version of nautilus are you running? (Check for versio
