closing that bug, that's not really a gnome-menus bug. If we want to
change one day a spec will probably be a better option

No but this is being discussed on the freedesktop.org xdg mailing list,
the spec might actually be changed to account for this.

applications.menu is the GNOME menu, the KDE packages rename their
applications.menu to kde-applications.menu IIRC
