Importance
The issue could be an upstream one (in gvfs or libgphoto) and it would
be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of
the software by following the instructions at

Same problem with my Canon IXUS300HS.

mount shows:
gvfsd-fuse on /run/user/1001/gvfs type fuse.gvfsd-fuse
(rw,nosuid,nodev,user=myuser)
ls of /run/user/1001 shows:
d? ? ?? ?? gvfs

Same bug in Xubuntu and Ubuntu 14.04 beta 2, using an old Fuji f47 USB PTP
camera.
Works fine in Kubuntu 14.04 beta 2.

Workaround #2:
Install "gphotofs" package.
In terminal - create a folder - e.g. PowerShot:
> mkdir PowerShot
Next turn on camers in view mode, and type:
> gphotofs PowerShot/
Now files are available in file manager/browser (Files).
I could not unmount camera in file manager - so in terminal i

gphoto2 --get-all-files
