that happens with all pdf files by printing with evince. printing pdfs
with adobe reader works fine.
after changing to gs-gpl printing works also with evince - so you will
be right, it should be a problem with esp ghostscript.
i'm using the splix driver 1.0.1-1 because i was searching for the rig

Any reason why you are using the openprinting.org distribution indepent
driver package for splix 1.0.1-1? This is only needed to fix an
important bug for the ML-2010 printers (see bug #112030).
