Public bug reported: gnome-session-flashback doesn't seem to depend (even indirectly) on lightdm, xorg, or any choosers, and it doesn't seem useful without these dependencies.
I would expect to be able to start with a base system without X, request installation of gnome-session-flashback, and have everything pulled in to get a flashback session going. Or am I missing some use for the package that doesn't include even the xorg dependency? Background: We use ubuntu systems in critical experimental control, so we prefer to avoid pieces we don't need. Therefore, we've been starting with server installs and pulling in the minimum pieces to match our requirements. Our users prefer flashback, and we'd hoped that installing gnome-session-flashback would pull in the minimum dependencies to get a session running. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1327407 Title: gnome-session-flashback missing dependencies To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/1327407/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
