Public bug reported: When attempting to format a usb flash stick and choosing the MBR partition table, gnome-disk-utility reports "Error sycnchrnonizing after initial wipe: timed out waiting for object (udisks-error-quark,0). Further, it seems to have corrupted the existing partition table, causing parted to complain "Error: Invalid Partition table - recursive partition on /dev/sde".
Furthermore, the format dialog is misleading as it gives the option to perform a quick format that is non destructive and preserves existing data, which is not what happens when you repartition a disk. ** Affects: gnome-disk-utility (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1343095 Title: Can't format a usb flash stick To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-disk-utility/+bug/1343095/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
