Public bug reported: Similar to bug #76596. I recently installed Gutsy Gibon for AMD64 on my Intel Core 2 Duo laptop, and all went exceptionally well. Much easier than 7.04 and much easier than I anticipated. Everything worked fine and after a while I was told I had updates available. I allowed the system to update and rebooted. Now when it logs on, there are no borders or titlebar! I rebooted again just in case, but it didn't help. I can temporarily fix this by running 'metacity --replace' and borders and titlebar appear. I've deleted '.metacity' from my home directory but this didn't help. I've changed nothing else, and in fact I've done nothing to the vanilla CD install except update it - not even used it much. I read somewhere that it's possible to set up metacity to generate a log file, but I can't seem to find those instructions at the moment!
