Perhaps I am getting a wee bit too excited, I built it myself and the
BBC stuff still doesn't work.
The cone plugin seems to have disappeared from the source, so I suppose
it was too unstable.
Sorry about the Canonical comment, but the Firefox deal thing annoyed
me.

The "typical of Canonical" is just not true, do you have any example
where non-free software has been preferred to an equivalent free
software? The comments on this bug are from me and not a Canonical
statement, and note that the bug is still open which is mean it has not
been rejected, it's just b
I see your point, but I think supporting non-free software where a free
alternative exists is rather silly, but reasonably typical of Canonical.
Never mind, I'll do it myself, pbuilder is fun.

The alternatives complicates the packages and are usually not user
friendly (you need to change them from a command line for all the users)

No, but java uses update-alternatives and so on, couldn't totem-mozilla
and the realplayer packages use this type of thing?
