it was working with beta version while using the live CD but after
installing the release it stops working again
neither pressing "fn + f8" nor "xrandr --auto" do anything
they simply do nothing.

ok, it works on gusty beta but not as supposed
assume we start with only laptop LCD working
it should switch between 3 situations
1 - redirect all output to VGA out and switch laptop LCD off (to save battery).
2 - switch both on.
3 - return to original situation (laptop LCD on and VGA out off).

when pressing this hotkey on Windows a small window appears (like the window
that appears when pressing ALT+TAB) to choose between available monitors eg.
laptop monitor and external monitor (or video projector or what is attached to
the VGA output port in the computer).
