Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gimp
When zooming large (3264x2448 -- 8 MP) images to 150%, the image disapears, and only the checkerbox pattern appears. According to Gimp's bugzilla, this has been fixed in SVN on Sept. 26. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=479807 I am 99% sure that it was introduced in the latest package (2.4.0~rc3-1ubuntu2), but I'm not sure how to revert to the previous package to double check if it was present or not. I'm not sure what was fixed in this latest package, but I consider this zoom issue to be a pretty serious regression. I think that many users have 8 MP or larger cameras, and use the Gimp on these images. 150% is a really common zoom factor, and it'd be a shame to ship Gutsy with this bug in the Gimp. Could we get this patch applied to the package before Gutsy is released? Thanks for your hard work.
