Further to my last email;
changed screen resolution and started GSM,same problem,it has returned,
process screen flashing on/off.Took screenshot which is now attached.
quit GSM from monitor tab as no window border again.
since then tried different resolutions and turning visual effects

Received your email and did the following ,
started Gnome System Monitor and checked the process tab,display
flashing on and off whenever the mouse cursor is over the process
screen.i.e same as previous.closed off GSM.
turned off visual effects and started GSM again,checked process tab
