Hi Appreciate the immediate response and given workaround; it is primarily a usability bug: imagine if this operation needs to be done on 5-10 archives on a daily basis and has been as such for 6+ months. It is totally mechanical for the user. It will be much appreciated if a fix can be provided,

I confirm this bug and I opened an upstream bug for it. However there is an easy workaround, just use the menu Edition -> Add files or click on the "Add files" icon to perform this operation. The test4.txt will be put in the correct location. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #492989 http
