workaround from #4 does no longer seem to work in bionic. How can this
be so screwed up in an LTS?

I found a workaround for Artful 17.10:
systemctl --user start obex
systemctl --user enable obex
/usr/lib/gnome-user-share/gnome-user-share-obexpush &
