Public bug reported: After installing Ubuntu 18.04, I updated and upgraded the system using terminal, installed Ubuntu-mate-welcome and Gnome Tweak Tool. Then I restarted my machine. After login into the system, I don't see anyway to click on any of the icons and opening terminal using "Ctrl+Alt+T". I also went to recovery mode to repair the broken packages and cleaning the system. But after login, I faced the same problem. To reproduce the error: 1. Install Ubuntu with of the essential packages. 2. Login into the system. 3. Observe the error.
