Hi, I've got a Sony Vaio SZ650N/C with the same problem. I am running the AMD64 version of Hardy. I've done an acpi_listen and closed and reopend the lid - there are absolutely no events listed there, nor in the acpid.log. I've chatted with the HAL folks, thinking that the problem might be there,
