After installing the metapackage ubuntu-studio-audio, a couple of days
ago, the gnome-settings daemon periodically fails to launch at startup.
The only drastic change pulled by ubuntu-studio-audio is the linux-rt
kernel ---after installing ubuntu-studio-audio and switching kernels,
the x-server crashed during its first boot; it seemed that the problem
was TiMidity++, so after uninstalling linux-rt, reinstalling TiMidity
and reinstalling linux-rt, I could boot successfully, although the
gnome-settings-daemon failed to start... and today it's the fourth time
it fails.
