Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

I detected something very annoying yesterday. After login into gdm, and
after the system started new processes, i suddenly noticed that screen
got black and then I saw the GDM login screen again. Then I had to put
the username and retype my password, and then the same problem again. So
I thought that the only way to stop this loop was killing X and then I
had to disable Compiz at startup. So everything was ok, but then again
the same problem when I used a program that I run with Wine, it breaks,
and I got the GDM login screen again. I think that if a program breaks
there is no reason for this with GDM to happen.

** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
