That's a valid question but if we knew what the issue was it would
probably be fixed. Did you try the workaround from the other bug to
switch to Default before going back to another value?

What desktop environment do you use?
R -> I am using the GNOME version 3.36.3 in Ubuntu 20.04.
how do you test if it changed?
I use the terminal. I simply open the terminal and press the Tab key. And for
example, I chose the "Sonar" alert sound, but I always hear the "Drip" sound.

you say 'doesn't change', how do you test if it changed? do you mean
that the UI isn't showing the new one as selected? or that some sound is
not the one expected, if so could you give details on the sound and how
you get it p
